Israel-based WiMAX and wireless broadband solutions provider Alvarion announced on June 16 that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel, whereby Alvarion will help Bharti Airtel to expand the WiMAX network for enterprise customers across major cities of India, according to a press release by Alvarion. The expansion project is expected to leverage Alvarion's BreezeMAX and BreezeACCESS WiMAX solutions. According to the press release, Alvarion deployed the first WiMAX network for Bharti Airtel in 2006. Further details of this deal are not yet available.
